Eunha So was introduced to piano at six years of age and delved into classical music.

“My mom wanted me to practice five hours a day when I was in elementary school,” Eunha said.

At the age of 14, Eunha moved with her family to Denver from South Korea. She was chosen to be part of her high school’s selective jazz band and received several awards, including Outstanding Musician at the Mile High Jazz Festival in 2011 and a first place rating at the Greeley Jazz Festival the same year.

Currently a student at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music, Eunha is pursing a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies and commercial music. She is a member of the University of Denver Lamont Jazz Ensemble.

“It’s a great thing to be able to share your music with the people that you love,” Eunha said.

To celebrate 30 years on the air and invest in the future of jazz, KUVO interviewed 30 local musicians under the age of 30. These features will be released on-air and online June 29-October 31.
