The Resonant Rogues at Mercury Cafe | July 14

Jul 8, 2018

The Resonant Rogues, based out of Asheville, NC, is the songwriting soul child of partners Sparrow and Keith J. Smith. With influences that include Appalachian old-time, Balkan folk music, Swing Manouche, and early New Orleans Jazz, they take their favorite flavors and blend them into a delicious, danceable dish. The Rogues are rounded out by champion old-time fiddler Kristen Harris, and swing cat Andrew Willens on the Upright Bass. The Resonant Rogues have toured relentlessly over their 5-year history, covering most of North America and Europe. Staying true to their adventurous spirits, the band expands its horizons by playing new towns, often off the beaten path. Avid nature lovers, they make seeing wild treasures a high priority on their travels. This tour will be no exception, with 10 shows around Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, going north as far as Denali National Park. The tour will also hit the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado.

The Resonant Rogues will be taking a stand for the environment by committing to a "Trash Free Tour", bringing reusable cups, to-go containers, bulk foods, and beverages. They will be avoiding single-use plastic such as soda and water bottles, to-go containers, and straws, and will be writing about their experiences along the way, with recipes, tips, successes, and failures.

Paris Swing Setfrom Denver CO - Inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, At the core of Paris Swing Set is Laurie Dunklee and Ken Lutes, who began singing and playing together in the rock band Puppet Camp.
