The Generations Sextet presents improvised music in a very unique manner, utilizing three and four part harmony (trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, bass and drums) on the melodies of the tunes pluswhat audiences have called a rather “conversational” approach to their improvisation.

Though rooted in jazz, Denver-based trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator Adam Bartczak reaches into many walks of music.  He has played and recorded with musicians from Robin Eubanks, Bryan Lynch, and Geoffrey Keezer to Del the Funky Homosapien, Ziggy Marley, and a hip-hop/jazz collective named Yo, Flaco!

Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club is pleased to be presenting saxophonist Peter Sommer in a special four week Saturday night series highlighting the original works from his albums "Tremolo Canteen" and "Narrando Historias" as well as new small group pieces tailored for this residency at Nocturne. Inspired by life, philosophy, and literature, Sommer's music retains a tuneful quality while highlighting the band's lyricism and rhythmic aptitude.
