A native of Los Angeles, Grammy®-nominated drummer Sammy Miller has become known for his unique maturity and relentless focus on making music that feels good as a drummer, singer, and bandleader. Upon completing his Master’s at The Juilliard School, Sammy formed his ensemble, The Congregation. As a band, they are focused on sharing the power of community through their music — joyful jazz.

City Park Jazz continues on Sunday with Hammond B-3 player Pat Bianchi returning to Denver for an event that should mark the jazz-highlight of this year’s series in the Park. After Bianchi returned to the east coast after an extended time in Denver, he began a quick march up the ranks of organ masters, moving to the top of the list of rising-star players in the 2016 DownBeat “Critics Poll.” He’s a regular with both guitarist Pat Martino and alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson. Bianchi takes stage at 6pm.

The Baur’s Wine Society presents it’s inaugural May wine dinner, hosted by Dazzle in their Charles Burrell Room. The second in a monthly series, it will feature the wines of Kunde Family Winery, who for five generations have been producing estate-bottle wines in the heart of Sonoma County. Chef Mario Godoy of Dazzle will prepare a five - course menu paired with five different wines presented by Jeff Kunde.
