Spanish Harlem Orchestra

Musical Instrument Museum

By now everyone out there should know that on Saturday, KUVO Jazz travels to the Balestreri Vineyards for its annual signature fundraising event with music this time around from the highly acclaimed Spanish Harlem Orchestra. The combination of food, drink and music at the event is something you definitely want to consider (kuvo.org or 303-620-5794). And no matter how much you eat and drink, the Grammy®-winning, 13-piece Latin Jazz/Salsa band will still be able to get you on your feet.

Eat! Drink! Dance! Live at the Vineyards!

Jul 23, 2018

Your ticket to Live at the Vineyards is an opportunity to indulge in a grand tasting of over 20 restaurants and greet top chefs. Simply walk up to any booth and grab a bite! It will be a medley of culinary delights paired with a wine tasting from Balistreri Vineyards, including three KUVO Signature wines, and music by the Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

Balistreri family members John, Julie, and Ray stopped by KUVO recently to discuss how they became a family operation spanning many generations, the inner workings of their facilities, the impact that Live at the Vineyards has made on Balistreri Vineyards, how Live at the Vineyards got started, and more.

On Thursday, the musical week gets started with tenor saxophonist Houston Person finishing up his two-night stand at Dazzle, 1512 Curtis, supported by pianist Jeff Jenkins, bassist Ken Walker and drummer Paul Romaine. And if you listen to his current High Note CD, Rain or Shine recorded in June 2017, you know that he still delivers his signature, blues-filled sound with both warmth and authority. There’s a reason why Person comes back to town with some frequency. His sets on Thursday are at 6 and 8:30 p.m.
