Even with a steady job, the leap to home ownership often comes down to the down payment.  Now, $5.65 million will be made available to eligible Denver homebuyers.  The program is sponsored by The City of Denver, Community Resources and Housing Development Corporation (an outgrowth of the Colorado Migrant Council), the national network  of affordable housing organizations NeighborWorks America and Wells Fargo.

Shelly Marquez, community development manager for Wells Fargo explained the program on “First Take with Lando and Chavis,” including income eligibility and details on the required home buyer education sessions.     The classes will be held during a two-day session april 4-5, 2014, at the Colorado Convention Center, under the Wells Fargo banner “NeighborhoodLIFT.”

“This program helps stabilize our communities that have been impacted over the years with foreclosures,” said Marquez.

Homes under contract must be in the City and County of Denver.
