There is more to health than trips to the gym, says Alisha Brown, vice president of the Be Well Health and Wellness Initiative.  Brown visited “First Take with Lando and Chavis” to describe the big picture, and Saturday’s Tailgate Party in the Stapleton neighborhood.

“We work with six different neighborhoods, and health continued to come up as an issue,” said Brown.  The Be Well Initiative, a project of The Stapleton Foundation, works in Northeast Park Hill, Greater Park Hill, Stapleton, East Montclair, Northwest Aurora and Montbello.

“We can utilize our communities as a place to be active, as we have in the past.”

The End-of-Summer Tailgate Party offers healthy food, group fitness activities, music and more.  It will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Skyland Park at 35th Avenue and Holly Street, right behind the Hiawatha Davis Recreation Center.
