Billy Childs Quartet | Feb. 11

Pianist and composer Billy Childs brings his all-star quartet to Mount Vernon Country Club February 11 for a performance not to be missed!

Discovered straight out of college by trumpet legend Freddie Hubbard, Childs has been hailed one of the most distinct American composers since Aaron Copeland and boasts 10 Grammy nominees. The Los Angeles born pianist has jammed with the likes of Joe Henderson, Yo-Yo Ma and Wynton Marsalis.

Late last year, Childs released Reimagining Laura Nyro,which has been nominated for three Grammy Awards (Best Jazz Vocal Album, Best Arrangement and Best American Roots Performance).

Childs will be joined by drummer Jonathan Blake and saxophonist Steve Wilson, who has worked with Chick Corea and Dianne Reeves. Austrian born bassist Hans Glaschnig- who has gained renown in NYC and records with the likes of Bobby Watson and Stefon Harris – rounds out the sensational group.
