Brian Blade’s “Mama Rosa” at Dazzle | June 13 & 14

Grammy award winning drummer Brian Blade returns to Dazzle Jazz June 13 and 14 to present his intimate album, Mama Rosa.

Mama Rosa grew naturally from the four-track home demos Blake has recorded over the years. Several of the original performances from those tapes can be heard on this album.

Initially, Blade felt these songs would never be heard by anyone else, but after encouragement, these home recordings became the cornerstones for the album. There is an initial spark close to the moment of inspiration and that intimate vibe is felt throughout Mama Rosa.

“Music is an acknowledgment of these higher thoughts of creation beyond our vision that speaks to our individual hearts,” said Blade.

 
“No matter what the songs might mean to me, they’ll take on a whole other storyline or landscape to another listener. My only hope is that it touches those deep recesses of the heart.”
