The Five Point Jazz Festival is going Virtual!
The Colorado Conservatory of the Arts (CCJA)’s “Jazz Arts Messengers” will perform for the Five Points Jazz Virtual Festival on May 16. The Jazz Arts Messengers are the premiere high school ensemble of the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (CCJA), a unique non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth to creatively express themselves through the language of jazz. These talented young musicians come together from all over the Denver Metro area to study, practice, write, and learn this celebrated American art form under the mentorship of the by the region’s most sought-after professional jazz musicians. CCJA participants experience personal and artistic growth through participation in small ensembles, big bands, vocal ensembles, jazz instruction camps, jam sessions, clinics, community performances, online classes, and much more.
Denver Arts & Venues and Rocky Mountain Public Media (RMPBS, KUVO JAZZ and THE DROP) are pleased to present the Five Points Jazz Festival virtually on Saturday, May 16, on RMPBS at 6pm and KUVO JAZZ kicks off at 8pm and to stream online on all of our platforms.
The virtual event will be presented as a two-hour, state-wide television broadcast on Rocky Mountain PBS, Saturday, May 16, 6-8p.m., a two-hour radio show on KUVO JAZZ Saturday, May 16, 8-10p.m., aired on KUVO JAZZ 89.3FM, streaming at kuvo.org, and on-demand video event on ArtsandVenues.com/5PJF. In addition, the two-hour video broadcast will be presented on the Denver Arts & Venues, Rocky Mountain PBS and KUVO social media channels. KUVO JAZZ will play segments from past festivals all day on Saturday, May 16 to celebrate the festivities. RMPBS will rebroadcast the program on Friday, May 22, at 8-10 p.m.
