Denver just added a new jazz gem – Baur’s Listening Lounge, located in the downtown theater district.

Baur’s offers intimate “un-plugged” performances by nationally and internationally touring artists as well as local musicians.

Located in a building from the 1880s, Baur’s venue provides old-world charm and amazing natural acoustics, creating a memorable atmosphere for musical events. Baur’s kitchen features international inspired cuisine and includes locally sourced options.

Starting strong, Baur’s welcomed pianist-vocalist Jon Cleary at its March 22 opener and pianist Justin Kauflin on March 26.

Vocalist Catherine Russell will sing at Baur’s on April 19, and Grammy-nominated Jovina Santo Neto will perform on May 3 with guitarist Romero Lumbambo and singer Maucha Adnet.

In its former lives, the Baur’s Building has been a historic candy store, bakery and restaurant – the “inventor of the ice cream soda”, and was once the site of the radio show “Breakfast at Baur’s,” hosted by Denver celebrity and author Gene Amole in the ’40s and ’50s.
