Dist. 3 councilman Lopez: vintage Denver
Denver City Council District 3 is represented by long-time activist Paul Lopez. He visited “First Take with Lando and Chavis” to update us on West Denver, and describe the city’s work in restoring trust in the embattled Denver Sheriff’s office.
“I want to make sure that whenever they end up in the custody of the Denver County Jail, that their safety is the number one concern,” said Lopez, who is chairman of the Council’s Safety & Well-being committee.
Lopez also touted Westwood neighborhood’s newest park in 30 years, Cuatros Vientos (Four Winds) Park, opening this weekend. ”West Denver is vintage Denver, OG Denver, original Denver,” said the District 3 native. ”You won’t find very many Taco Bells, but you will find a lot of real taco places.”
The boundaries for Denver Council District 3 are changing in 2015. The current district map is linked here.
