Marissa Russo is a Denver, CO based singer-songwriter. She studied opera with world renowned opera singer Judith Christin and grew up listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Tammi Terrell, Fiona Apple, and The Beatles. She brings these classical, pop, jazz, and alternative influences into her songwriting and her vocal performance style. She plays understated pop-jazz piano while serenading you with her extremely large vocal range capturing a sultry soulful feel of a jazzy lounge singer as well as wooing you with some sweet whistling high notes. Her intimate lyrics will tell you stories of love, longing, broken hearts, and loss but her powerful voice shows you that those stories will never break her.
