Tristan J. Rogers is a vibraphonist, composer, and Visiting Professor of Philosophy at the University of Colorado Boulder. After performing for many years as a guitarist, Rogers began playing the vibraphone in graduate school, studying with internationally-renowned vibraphonists Tony Miceli, David Friedman, and Tyler Blanton. Following the course of his academic career, he has performed with jazz ensembles in Arizona, Minnesota, and California. He has also performed on tour in China on two separate occasions. This is his first performance in Colorado.

The Infinite Quartet showcases his original compositions in the post-bop tradition, as well as carefully disguised contrafacts of well-known tunes. Drawing on influences such as Jim Hall, Bill Evans, Kenny Wheeler, and Antonio Carlos Jobim, Rogers’s compositions seek to expand the possibilities for improvisation through melodic minimalism and rich harmonies. The “Infinite” Quartet refers to music’s capacity for storytelling, about ideas, events, and emotions that cannot otherwise be expressed in words. The Quartet features Jason Greenlaw (guitar), Eddie Ness (bass), Andrew Grossman (drums).

Covid Requirements: Muse is asking guests to wear masks inside at all times except while actively eating or drinking. Muse will also require guests to be vaccinated or show proof of a negative test three days before a performance. Thank you!
