American Heirlooms: AAPI Mixtape

Join us the first Wednesday of every month for a music series to celebrate two, once in a lifetime milestones; the 250th anniversary of American independence and the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s statehood. This series brings together powerful music that reflects our shared heritage, evolving identity, and promising artistic future as a state and as a nation.

This performance is in partnership with Colorado Asian Pacific United and Japanese Arts Network.

Jett Kwong - Ghuzeng Player

Jett Kwong is a vocalist, guzheng player, composer, and producer. Her combination of the Chinese guzheng, expressive vocal melodies, strings, and poetic songwriting transports the listener into dreamy soundscapes deemed “ a balm to the spirit" (NPR). 

Kali Paguirigan & Tom Hagerman - Vocalist and Violinist 

Kali Paguirigan is a half-Filipino, classically trained mezzo-soprano whose artistry spans genres from classical to folk and contemporary music.

Tom Hagerman is a Denver based musician, arranger, educator and composer known for his multi-instrumentalist role in the Grammy nominated rock band, Devotchka.

Margaret Ozaki Graves & Jerome Síbulo

Margaret Ozaki Graves is Senior Director of Artistic Planning and Partnerships at Central City Opera. 

Bass-baritone Jerome Síbulo thrives at the intersection of performance, education, and community through the arts.
