Blackbird Quartet

Come see Blackbird Quartet's inaugural flight as we perform Messiaen's spectacular Quatuor pour la fin du Temps (Quartet for the end of Time) and Schonfeld's jazzy Cafe Music!

The Blackbird Quartet is comprised of four Boulder-area chamber musicians committed to thoughtful and engaging music —

Violinist Greg Abrell completed his undergraduate studies at Longy School of Music and is currently pursuing a master's degree in violin performance at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Cellist Sophie Stubbs is an active chamber, orchestral, and freelance artist. She received her master's degree in cello performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023.

Hailing from Billings, Montana, Kevin Halsey is an undergraduate majoring in clarinet performance, minoring in education and history. An avid chamber performer and ensemble musician, he has performed as principal of the CU Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony and Philharmonia Orchestra.

Pianist Walton Lott completed his DMA and MM in piano performance at UNC Greensboro, studying everything from harpsichord to contemporary composition.
