Charlie DeGrove and Andrew Elwood

Charlie DeGrove is a bassist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Colorado Springs. He has played throughout the Front Range with various bandleaders and as a leader himself. He has privately studied with bassists such as Marc Niehof, Jason Crowe, Or Bareket, and Ben Street, and is currently preparing to continue his musical studies in New York at The New School this Fall. Continually inspired by the deep traditions of jazz, classical music, electronic music, folk music, and experimental music, DeGrove has a penchant for fusing styles to create something new.

Andrew Elwood is a young jazz drummer based in the Denver/Chicago areas. Andrew is a Denver School of the Arts alumni and currently goes to DePaul University in Chicago where he studies with Dana Hall. He is also an alumni of the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts with the Jazz Arts Messengers. Elwood has studied with drummers such as Paul Romaine, Alejandro Castaño, and Paul Wertico. He has played professionally in Denver both as a leader and a sideman.

Charlie and Andrew co-lead this group and will be presenting some of their original music.
