The Matthew Fuller Quartet
| Nocturne Jazz
Cap off your weekend with a Sunday evening groove and join Drew Morell as he hosts a throw-back series that celebrates the hard-grooving sound of the jazz boogaloo from the 1960s. Drew and his band will present works by Cannonball Adderley, Stanley Turrentine, Kenny Burrell, Les McCann, Ramsey Lewis, and others that blend the arts of blues, Latin, funk, and jazz.
For over 25 years, Drew Morell has been a professional jazz pianist, bassist, guitarist and music educator in the Denver area. He was the house bassist at the nationally renowned jazz club El Chapultapec for three years, has traveled with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and performed many times with Ron Miles, Red Holloway, Nick Brignola, and Javon Jackson, Ralph Sharron, Spike Robinson, Denis DiBlasio, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Bud Shank, Bobby Shew and many others. Drew is full-time faculty at the University of Colorado at Denver, owns his own music studio (Infinity Music), and has been recorded as a sideman on more than two dozen recordings.
