Thank you to those who supported KUVO JAZZ on Colorado Gives Day!
Due to high winds and fire danger, transmitters are operating at reduced power and reception may be affected through the weekend. Thank you for your understanding and support! You can listen online and on the KUVO app.
For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.
Chicano Music Hall of Famer, Lerry Medina, originally of San Luis, Colorado, has been playing live Chicano, Latin, Mariachi, Rock and Roll, Country-Western and Rockabilly music since he was 14 years old. He has been playing guitar and singing live for over 60 years with inspiration coming from his love of legends like The Ventures, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly and Al Hurricane, to name a few. As a solo artist, Lerry recorded Songs from the Heart in 2004 and in 2008 he recorded an album called Nada Seguro. His love of music was passed to his son, Troy, who plays guitar and trumpet in accompaniment on that album. They have been making music together for over 40 years.
