The multi-saxophonist and EWI stylist and band leader, Jeff Nathanson, returns to Full Cycle Café & Bar with his world class band, Tonal Triage.

Per the ever loquacious Jeff Nathanson- “Hi Folks, I hope this finds you well in these tumultuous and turbulent times. On Saturday, March 15th, 7:30-9:30 pm, I will be performing with my group Tonal Triage at Full Cycle in Boulder, Colorado, with the purpose of projecting some melodic joy, hope and positivity into the world at large. This Pow-Wow of sorts promises to be replete with Latin-infused and inspired melodies, crafted jazz standards, beautiful ballads, et. al. With this incredible international rhythm section on board, Tonal Triage will be exploring the many facets of Latin jazz, Latin funk, beautiful ballads and jazz standards. You will not want to miss the exquisite cross-cultural musical expressions of this world-class ensemble! The musicians are top shelf, world-class artists and human beings. Please join us for a night of improvised musical connection and intercultural synergy. I really hope to see you there!”

Musician Bios:

Jeff Nathanson- Saxophonist/EWI sound sculptor has had a uniquely diverse and extraordinary musical life and career. From 1991-2018 he was a featured soloist and horn section member for Latin- pop superstar, Luis Miguel, with whom he recorded and toured extensively, the world over. During this tenure, Jeff also recorded and toured with Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina, culminating that association with their 50 year reunion concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in 2022. Someof his other collaborative highlights include performances/recordings with Freddie Fender, Frankie Valli, Juan Gabriel, Sheila E., Googoosh, the Colorado Symphony, and his longtime membership in the Hazel Miller Band.

Eduardo “Bijoux” Barbosa was born in Sao Paulo-Brazil where he studied music theory and electric bass with Prof. Nadir Dos Santos. He then moved to Denver-Colorado-USA in 1997 where, besides staying busy with live performances, he is also one of the top studio musicians that can be heard on over 300 recordings. He has performed with Herbie Mann, Dave Grusin, Don Grusin, Bryan Lynch, Russell Ferrante, Chuck Loab, Gerald Albright and Lee Ritenour, to name a few. Currently you can find him playing with the Nelson Rangell Quartet, gogoLab, the Littleton Symphony Orchestra, the worship band for City Presbyterian Church.

Victor Mestas Perez, renowned international pianist, has performed extensively in Colorado with the Brazilian, jazz & Latin-jazz scene. He has toured and recorded internationally with famous bands including Guaco & Trabuco Venezolano, and has also accompanied an array of singers in live concerts, including: Soledad Bravo, Cheo Feliciano, and for Julio Iglesias’ 2010 Tour in Uruguay and Argentina. He has been instrumental in over 85 recording productions for national and international renowned artists, including a 2010 Latin Grammy Award with Ilan, a Venezuelan songwriter. 

Alejandro Castaño  is an active drummer and educator in the United States and abroad. Castaño’s performance and recording credits include: Ron Miles, Eric Gunnison, Greg Gisbert, Peter Sommer, Pete Olstad, Steve Turre, Benny Bannack III, Gabriel Mervine and many others. He is an educator at Denver School of the Arts, teaching percussion and Jazz. Castaño is the Director of Education for the Gift of Jazz as well as an educator for the Colorado Conservatory of the Jazz Arts.
