"Whether he's playing sax, singing or scattin', Max Wagner is a guarantee to grab your attention, put a smile on your face and satisfy even the most discerning jazz fan!" —Arturo Gómez -Music Director-Jazz 89 KUVO, Denver
Max Wagner is a consummate tenor saxophonist, singer, and entertainer. He dedicated his life to jazz and sax at an early age and performed in Colorado for many decades, playing with the greats in Denver and on tour in the US. He was a mainstay in days of lore at the Caffè Sole Jazz Supper Club, and whether Max was performing a blazing bebop solo or a soulful ballad, he plays each song, each note with total body and soul tempered with impeccable precision.
Max Wagner - saxophonist/vocalist/composer/lyricist...that cat can scat! Max Wagner is a dynamic and accomplished saxophonist and Jazz vocalist. He has received notice in DOWNBEAT magazine, been described by the Denver Post as "a powerful and innovative soloist", by Westword as "Denver's candidate for the 'Alto Madness' award", and in the Coloradoan as a "world class Jazz artist."
The Kansas City Star says, "Max Wagner's music is food for the soul." Max has worked with many of the great Jazz Artists of our time, and has performed across the country in Concert, at Jazz Festivals, in Jazz Clubs, and performed live on Radio and Television.
His latest CDs, "Gratitude" and "Night Song," were each named album of the month by Denver's nationally top-rated Jazz radio station, KUVO.
