The Lionel Young Blues Band with Daryl Smith on guitar is one of the great blues bands anywhere! Mr. Young won the 2011 International Blues Challenge band competition. Added to his victory, he also won at the 2008 IBC in the solo-duo category. That makes him the first double champion in the history of the International Blues Competition!
With Mr. Young is Jay Forrest on drums, Dirk Dickson on bass, and Daryl Smith on guitar. Daryl is a Detroit session player who toured and recorded with many of the great Motown bands – Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Temptations, The Persuasions... you name it. He is an impeccable session player who can tear it up from Jimi Hendrix to Deep Southern Blues to Soul.
