A poster for JAZZ SUPPER CLUB SERIES | The Three Tenors event

The Three Tenors all-star jazz ensemble presents three dynamic voices on the tenor saxophone: Pete Lewis, Rich Chiaraluce, and Eric McGregor. From Coleman Hawkins to Lester Young to John Coltrane to Joshua Redman, the tenor saxophone has always been at the forefront of American music, and this band celebrates the rich legacy of the instrument with a formidable lineup: Todd Reid (drums), Mark Diamond (bass), and Keith Waters (piano).

Rich Chiaraluce is the lead alto player with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. This is a position he has held for a number of years. He was also the leader of the Artie Shaw Orchestra for several years. Rich has performed with many of the famous singers from the American Songbook Era including Mel Tormé, Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson, Dakota Stanton, and Natalie Cole. He has also played with the Woody Herman All-Stars.

Pete Lewis has played with the Colorado Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra, mostly when they are doing “pop” material. He has backed up the Temptations, the Four Tops, Natalie Cole, Linda Ronstadt, and Ben Folds; and he played in the Joe Henderson Big Band at the Hollywood Bowl and more.

Keith Waters- is a highly esteemed jazz pianist and Professor of Music at the University of Colorado-Boulder. His book, The Studio Recordings of the Miles Davis Quintet 1965-68, was published by Oxford University Press in 2011 and won many prestigious awards as a seminal academic work on the iconic music of Miles Davis.

He has performed with jazz greats James Moody, Eddie Harris, Bobby Hutcherson, Sheila Jordan, Meredith D'Ambrosio, Dave Liebman, and Chris Connor, playing in venues such as Washington D.C.'s Blues Alley and Kennedy Center, as well as New York's Blue Note and Village Gate. He has recorded and performed throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and Russia.

Mark Diamond on bass is a highly sought-after sideman, appearing on over 100 albums. Mark has toured Europe, appears at festivals and clubs across the US, and has performed with such legendary performers as Earl Klugh, Nnenna Freelon, Spike Robinson, Richie Cole, James Moody, Ernestine Anderson, Ben Sidran, Peter Rowan, Henry Butler, Fred Wesley, Bruno Carr, blues men Eddie Kirkland and Mark Hummel, and New York-based jazz vocalists Allan Harris and Tom Lellis.

Todd Reid a renowned in-demand jazz drummer has worked with top jazz artists including Jon Hendricks, Mose Allison, Freddie Cole, Bob Dorough, Roberta Gambarini, Eddie Daniels, David “Fathead” Newman, Richie Cole, Lew Tabackin, Red Holloway, Bobby Shew, Carl Saunders, Javon Jackson, and a host of others.

Eric McGregor is an accomplished saxophonist and native of Colorado, received a scholarship to the University of Denver in the fall of 1985. After graduating, Eric spent time playing on cruise ships and working professionally in the metro Denver area and has had the pleasure of playing with many national groups as well as many of the finest Denver-based musicians.
