As a former member of the legendary Hermeto Pascoal's band, Neto’s extensive discography reflects a deep understanding of jazz, Brazilian music, and improvisation. An accomplished performer on the bassoon and a versatile musician, Kuuskmann has collaborated with notable artists across genres, infusing his playing with a unique blend of classical techniques and modern jazz sensibilities.

In 2007, Kuuskmann earned a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Composition for a concerto by David Chesky, and again in 2017 for a piece by Theofanidis.

When not performing, Kuuskmann can be found teaching at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, as an Associate Professor, Bassoon.
