Help share more music in 2026 - make a year-end gift!
Due to high winds and fire danger, transmitters are operating at reduced power and reception may be affected through the weekend. Thank you for your understanding and support! You can listen online and on the KUVO app.
For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.
“Pamela Machala artfully turns a phrase and yet still manages to make us dance...[her] piano-rich gems are in the storyteller vein of Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles, yet they are distinctly hers.” - Colorado Daily
Colorado-based singer, songwriter, and pianist Pamela Machala (“MOCK-uh-luh”) is known for her finely crafted pop-folk songs. With influences ranging from jazz and soul to musical theater, Pamela’s songwriting combines boldly vulnerable lyrics, clever turns of phrase, feelgood funky grooves, and a distinctive blend of melancholy, hope, and goofiness.
Pamela’s songs have received the Grand Prize in the SongDoor International Songwriting Competition, as well as an Honorable Mention in the 2024 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Contest. Pamela has performed at venues ranging from The Bitter End in NYC to The Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and has opened for artists including Lisa Loeb and Danielle Ate The Sandwich.
Pamela's most recent project is a 5-song acoustic EP with award-winning songwriter, audio engineer and producer Kyle Donovan. Her newest songs explore themes of parenthood, family, and connection.
