Smiley - Pope - Heller: Binnen Buiten

We are thrilled to present a new project from bandleaders Matt Smiley, Dru Heller, and David Pope: Binnen Buiten (Dutch for "Inside Outside"). The group is a collaboration of creative musicians from all over the country playing a program of improvised music based on standard jazz forms, with a dynamic, ever-shifting approach to their ensemble sound. Playing a blend of post-bop, hard bop, modal jazz, and swing, Binnen Buiten is a thrilling new group showcasing many of the prominent voices in modern improvised music. 

Featuring Matt Smiley (bass), Dru Heller (drums), David Pope (saxophone), Josh Reed (trumpet), and Alex Nauman (guitar).
