A poster for Spencer Zweifel Trio plays Burt Bacharach event

On Sunday, May 31st, Nocturne presents The Spencer Zweifel Trio (Matt Smiley on bass and Brian Claxton on drums) performing the music of Burt Bacharach.

Bacharach was an iconic American composer, songwriter, producer, and pianist who was known for his sophisticated and stylish pop tunes, many of which translate brilliantly to the jazz idiom. This series is in part to help this intrepid trio celebrate the release of their album featuring the eternal sounds of Bacharach

Spencer Zweifel is an accomplished jazz pianist who has performed in a wide variety of genres throughout Colorado and on tours across the US. Spencer graduated in 2019 with a degree in jazz studies from the University of Northern Colorado. In 2021, Spencer completed a Master’s in jazz studies at William Paterson University, where he studied with Bill Charlap, Aaron Diehl, and Geoffrey Keezer. In 2020, Zweifel formed the Spencer Zweifel Quintet, which has since released 2 records, including 2022's 'Before It's Too Late'.
