Tart Suite

Sunday evening's benefit for The Muse will be a flavorful bounty from the band Tart Suite. These musical master chefs are offering richly diverse entrees skillfully prepared and intriguing to the palette. Selections will include original and standard works that are interesting, strange, fun, quirky, crisp and perhaps bubbly – the norm for this group's musical menu with a divergent step toward the unusual-but-familiar and/or comfortably complex. Lande suggests we consider Billy Strayhorn's "Lotus Blossom" and Steve Swallow's "Ladies in Mercedes" as well as Steve Lacy's "Papa's Midnight Hop" and Carla Bley's "Ictus" for some hints toward possible tart and sweet contrasts.

Art Lande, Emily Takahashi and Bill McCrossen ask that you come sample, nibble, savor and share in the delight of tasteful live music from Tart Suite on this Sunday night musical buffet with all the proceeds going to our beloved Muse Performance Space. (Feel free to be generous with your flavorful toppings, sides and giving.)
