A poster for The Camilla Vaitaitis Quartet: Original Works event

Nocturne is thrilled to present this month-long series by the Camilla Vaitaitis Quartet as they present a collection of Camilla's original works. A Denver native, Camilla's singular voice as a pianist, composer, and bandleader blends seamlessly a wide range of musical influences for a dynamic, personal style that feels equally at home in Colorado's indie rock scene as it does on the Nocturne stage. For this series, Camilla will be joined by other Denver favorites, including Adam Gang (saxophone), Patrick McDevitt (bass), and Kevin Matthews and Braxton Kahn (drums).

Camilla Vaitaitis is a pianist, vocalist, guitarist, arranger, and composer based in Denver, CO. She graduated from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies & Commercial Music and a Master's degree in Jazz Composition in 2020. She plays regularly in several different groups, including her indie rock bands Barbara and Specific Ocean, Passiflora, and her original jazz project, the Camilla Vaitaitis Quartet. Camilla dedicates time not only to performing and accompanying throughout Denver but also to composing and arranging pieces for various groups, including big bands, small ensembles, rock bands, and more. She is a published composer with Brava Jazz Publishing. In addition to actively performing, Camilla maintains a busy schedule teaching piano, guitar, songwriting, and composition.
