Bassist David Wong is joined by guitarist Jacob Artved and drummer Kush Abadey for an evening celebrating timeless jazz compositions and selections from the Great American Songbook. The arrangements are specially crafted for this trio, highlighting each musician’s individual voice while emphasizing their deep musical rapport as an ensemble.

David Wong is a sought-after bassist born and raised in New York City. He is currently a member of the Bill Charlap Trio, the Charles McPherson Quintet, and the Terell Stafford Quintet, has held the bass chair with the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra for over 16 years, and also regularly performs with Cécile McLorin Salvant. David was a member of Roy Haynes’ Fountain of Youth band for 15 years as well as the Heath Brothers Quartet.

David has appeared on over 80 recordings, including Samara Joy’s Grammy Award– winning album Linger Awhile. Wong is adjunct faculty at Purchase College, William Paterson University, The New School, and The City College of New York. David is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied classical music with Orin O’Brien of the New York Philharmonic, and later studied with Ron Carter.
