For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.

Join us for this special one-time performance by Colorado legend Eric Gunnison and his trio. A celebrated pianist, composer, and educator, Gunnison was recently inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, a well-deserved honor. We are delighted to host this local artist and his phenomenal band for a special evening!
Eric Gunnison was raised in Buffalo, NY, and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a BA in music composition in 1979. He lives in Denver, where he has been a mainstay in the music scene for two decades. Eric performs the world over and has appeared in concert with Ron Miles, Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Phil Woods, Bobby Shew, Chris Potter, Christian McBride, and Eddie Gomez, just to name a few. Some of the more famous work in Eric’s career was his time serving as a pianist and music director to the great Carmen McRae. Since 1991, Gunnison has also been the pianist and a composer/arranger for the Denver super-group Convergence. Gunnison recently retired from his long-held position at The University of Denver’s Lamont School Of Music and is now exclusively a performer.
