For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.

Join us for a special one-time performance by trumpeter and bandleader Micah Miller and his quartet as they celebrate the work of the modern giants of improvised music. The 1990s was a formative period in the history of this American art form; young artists such as Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, and Joshua Redman played a pivotal role in crafting a new style, revitalizing mainstream jazz for a younger audience while honoring the rich tradition of generations past. Miller and his band will be playing the music from these iconic 90s records in a unique quartet setting and featuring Micah Miller (trumpet), Adam Gang (saxophone), Hunter Roberts (bass), and Camilla Vaitaitis (piano).
Micah Miller is a composer, performer, and educator living in Denver. Micah grew up in Wyoming, where he started learning piano, trumpet, and voice from a young age. He studied jazz trumpet and voice at the University of Northern Colorado and recently completed a Master’s in trumpet performance from the University of Wyoming. As a freelancing musician, Micah plays around the Northern Colorado and Wyoming area in a variety of ensembles and musical settings. He recently released his debut album of original works for jazz quintet, Why Not Here?, in September 2023.
