The Mike Marlier Quartet Honors Chick Corea

A poster for The Mike Marlier Quartet Honors Chick Corea event

Join us for a remarkable one-time performance from drummer and bandleader Mike Marlier and his quartet, honoring the legacy of a giant of American music: the late great Chick Corea. A formative voice in jazz fusion and beyond, Corea's dynamic voice as a pianist and composer continues to influence generations of musicians to this day. Marlier will be joined by Bijoux Barbosa on bass, Eric Gunnison on piano, and Mike Abbott on guitar.

Growing up in Sandusky, Ohio Mike Marlier started playing drums at the age of five, and hasn't stopped. A lifetime in music was established from the day he was born, as he was immersed in the jazz records his father played both at home and on the radio station where he worked. Mike attended the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in 1975, then went on to further studies at Bowling Green State University - after graduating Mike moved to Denver in 1981. Marlier has performed and recorded with countless artists and musicians, including Dave Grusin, Benny Golson, Bobby Shew, Rob Mullins, the Neophonic Jazz Orchestra, Lee Ritenour and Stanley Jordan.
