We are delighted to welcome remarkable bassist, bandleader, and educator Seth Lewis and his trio back to the Nocturne stage. A Northern Colorado favorite, Lewis has spent a decades-long career playing, studying, and sharing his love for the American art form of jazz, while consistently delivering a truly enjoyable night of music. For this special one-time performance, Seth will be joined by Ben Markley (piano) and Dru Heller (drums). 

Seth Lewis has travelled the world performing and teaching. Seth has played on Broadway and Las Vegas shows, and during his time in New York, he played Smalls, Smoke, Dizzy’s Club Coca­-Cola, Cleopatra’s Needle, and The Iridium. He has shared the stage with Mulgrew Miller, Louis Hayes, Eric Alexander, David Hazeltine, Jerry Dodgion, Randy Brecker, Sheila Jordan, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Greg Gisbert, Dave Liebman, Eric McPherson, Abraham Burton, Josh Evans, Dawn Clement, Alexis Cole, Benny Golson, Jeff Hamilton, Evan Sherman and many others. Seth holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hartt School of Music, a Master of Music degree from William Paterson University, and a Doctor of Arts degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. Seth has studied privately with the late Bob Cranshaw, Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Nat Reeves, John Lockwood, Martin Wind, Bill Charlap, and Steve Davis.
