Thank you to those who supported KUVO JAZZ on Colorado Gives Day!
Due to high winds and fire danger, transmitters are operating at reduced power and reception may be affected through the weekend. Thank you for your understanding and support! You can listen online and on the KUVO app.
For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.
We are thrilled to welcome back to the Nocturne stage a fantastic ensemble of Denver's finest young musical voices: multi-instrumentalist Tom Amend and his trio.
Tom Amend is an organist, pianist, composer, and arranger from Denver, Colorado. Performing and recording throughout the Rocky Mountain region in various settings as both a leader and a sideman, he can be heard with Colorado-based Soul/Blues artists: The Burroughs and the Taylor Scott Band. Amend received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and a Master of Music in Composition at the University of Northern Colorado. During his time at UNC, Tom shared stages with Chris Potter, Christian McBride, Jeff Hamilton, Joey DeFrancesco, Groove For Thought, Greg Gisbert, Deborah Brown, Louis Hayes, Dave Liebman, Sheila Jordan, and others. As a bandleader, Tom's 2021 debut album as an organist, 'Frontier Justice' featured Jeff Hamilton on drums and Steve Kovalcheck on guitar.
