Abigail Clark got her start in radio in the lakeside town of Plattsburgh in upstate New York. While studying for her Music BA at SUNY Plattsburgh, she discovered her love of radio and soon joined the college radio station, WQKE. After graduating, she produced and announced at WIRY in Plattsburgh until she moved to Rochester, NY.  There she served for 2 years at WXIR, an independent community radio station, where she reported and produced a weekly arts and culture segment for their community-powered news broadcast. In 2021 Abi moved to Denver, CO, and in 2022, started her role as a substitute on-air host at KUVO JAZZ. She Co-hosts with Andy O’ on their late-night show Influenced, Monday nights at midnight.

Andy O ‘ began with KUVO as a volunteer in 1989 and became Music Director with the station in the mid-1990s into the early 2000s. He is a published poet and winner of the James Ryan Morris Tombstone Award for Poetry and Jazz. He is a bassist with Bad Fun and a performance poet. Andy has been a big fan of radio since his childhood in Denver listening to theater of the mind and radio variety shows near the end of the radio age. Andy has lived in Denver most of his life but also lived in Wyoming as well.

The hosts, Abi Clark & Andy O’ explore jazz played by artists not known as jazz players and conversely, music by jazz artists playing songs outside The Great American Songbook or The Real Book. Each episode aims to entertain while leading to a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the interconnectivity of music. Join Abi and Andy for Influenced!
