We conclude what has been a history making month of May here in Denver, a cloudy history we wish never to see again.

We begin our musical sunshine on the Memorial Day edition of New Music Monday with the newest by bassist Kyle Eastwood, Time Pieces for the Jazz Village label. We also have the contemporary ”Gypsy Jazz” group Pearl Django’s brand new release, Time Flies… with their usual mix of classics and original tunes. We then debut the LaLama Brothers’ homage to their mom and dad with their back in time songs on The Crepuscule Variation (on songs our parents gave us).

We’ll also share some new music by saxophonist Jeff Hackworth, The Heart of the Matter, Dawan Muhammad’s Consider the Source, Brazilian flavor will he provided by Vinicius Cantuária, with his latest, a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Time permitting we’ll hear a few more new CDs beginning Noon on Lunchtime at the Oasis.
