Beat Box Muralists Application Now Open

We’re excited to share that we’re working on a project in collaboration with our sister station, THE DROP.

Introducing “Beat Box,” a project that aims to showcase Denver’s vibrant past and present music scene and to elevate the voices of local artists through the creation of six utility box murals in Council District 9.

Each mural will feature a portrait of a prominent historical or active Denver musician, and each will also include a QR code linking the public to more information about the musician and the artist. We are looking for six muralists to paint portraits of selected Colorado musicians on the utility boxes near The Buell Public Media Center in downtown Denver. Each muralist will be given a $1,000 artist stipend. The murals will be approximately 44 x 68 inches each.
