Community Connnections: Rob Mullins
Tree King was joined by pianist Rob Mullins; they had a great visit and talked about his collaborations with Ronnie Laws, one being the rendition of Ribbon in the Sky, originally written by Stevie Wonder, who was invited to join them on the recording. Rob checked this one off on his bucket list.
He's also a mentor to many young artists and is the head instructor for the Jazz Piano Private Lessons Program at Classic Piano. Not to mention his mentoring young musicians from the Yamaha Young Artist competition, which just ended in April. One of the students he has mentored for the past nine months, Sebastian Maa, is performing with him at Dazzle on Saturday, May 16.
