The smells, the sounds, the tastes, the community – you find it all at markets. Around the world, open-air markets provide the street food we’re all craving, as well as just-picked produce and artisan crafts. Denver-based photographer, publisher, and entrepreneur Jeff Fierberg has a new book about the intersection of food, culture, and human connection that is found at markets worldwide.

He dropped by The Morning Set to discuss his travels to create the essay and photo book “Markets Volume 1,” which is set for release on October 20, 2025 (link to Denver event below). As the photos and stories reveal, “food serves as a universal language of identity and resilience.”
