I Don’t Like Spiders & Snakes but I’ll do what it takes…...

Innocent question posed to an attorney: “Will you help us get the corporate papers from Granfalloon, the former license holder of Denver Educational Broadcasting KHUM so we can control the license and change the call letters of 89.3 FM?”

The answer was yes because the attorney, Manuel Ramos, was married to one of the volunteers for the station. But he soon found himself in a situation never covered in his Corporate Law classes on how to file business documents. Turns out that Granfalloon, the now defunct community organization that previously held the license had “stored” the corporate files in plastic bags in the crawl space of a former board member’s house.

Manuel was pretty sure his law professors had not mentioned that sometimes you had to crawl on your stomach, batting away spiders and cobwebs to get to the corporate papers. Whatever happened to filing cabinets?
