KUVO Volunteers Help Plant 40 Trees in Celebration of 40 Years of Jazz

On Tuesday, October 7, KUVO JAZZ volunteers, staff, and community members came together at Zuni Park for a special anniversary project — “Can You Dig It?” — a tree-planting event celebrating KUVO’s 40th year on the air.

The morning kicked off with breakfast burritos from Santiago’s Mexican Restaurant, coffee from Prodigy Coffee, and plenty of music and laughter as participants worked side-by-side with park staff.

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help plant 40 new trees throughout the park — one for every year KUVO has served the Denver community. we rolled up our sleeves and planted 40 trees at Zuni Park.

This event wasn’t just about planting trees. It was about planting roots in the community. Each tree represents KUVO’s deep connection to Denver and its listeners, and the commitment to nurturing that bond for decades to come.

A heartfelt thank-you to all the volunteers who joined us to make this event a success! Participants took home wildflower seed packets as a small token of appreciation and a reminder that the KUVO community continues to grow and thrive.

We’re not saying we saved the earth, but along with 50 volunteers, KUVO staff, and Office of Forestry, City and County of Denver staff, we planted 40 trees at Zuni Park. Located at 51st and Zuni! Special thanks to Young’s Market and Garden Center, Prodigy Coffee and Santiago’s. We’re celebrating 40 years Together!
