Live & Local: Eric Trujillo Plays at Dazzle

Steve Chavis joined KUVO JAZZ in 2012 as morning news host and Public Affairs Manager, and spent five years alongside Carlos Lando as co-host of “First Take with Lando and Chavis.” He served for five years as program director
Eric Trujillo

Raised as a musician, Eric Trujillo turned to making and repairing instruments to make a living. Now, as his children pursue their own musicianship and leave the nest, he’s returning to the bandstand.

Trujillo, who has a track on KUVO’s “Live at the Oasis, Vol. 10,” dropped by The Morning Set to catch us up on his luthier work, his musical plans, some life lessons, and (speaking of nests) how the community supported the family after a devastating house fire.

Eric Trujillo plays tenor sax and his acoustic quintet performance at Dazzle is designed to accommodate those with some degree of hearing loss. It’s Sunday, August 31, at 5 p.m.
