Vinyl Vault: Zoot Sims & the Gershwin Brothers

The album pays tribute to the many great songs composed by George and Ira Gershwin. Most were originally written for Broadway plays, but over the years, jazz players realized that many of those songs were structured with chord changes ideally suited for jazz improvisation. Some of those Broadway shows flopped, others were successful, but the tunes from those shows that jazz players focused on were all hits.
