KUVO’s YouTube and Twitch channels feature a performance by the Wes Watkins Quintet, captured in the Bonfils-Stanton Performance Studio. The session will be streamed on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 12 noon and available anytime.

Accompanying composer and multi-instrumentalist Watkins are Riley Williams on drums, Kramer Kelling on bass, Enmanuel Alexander on Guitar, reedman Fab Folz, and JJ Brown on harmonica and vocals.

Wes Watkins is a Denver-based musician whose high-energy performances have captivated audiences across the globe, including NBC’s The Tonight Show and the Coachella festival. A versatile artist, Wes has toured with Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, fronted the 14-piece soul ensemble The Other Black, and collaborated with Wheelchair Sports Camp, Kayla Marque, iZcalli and others. The last time Wes played on KUVO was two decades ago; he was 16 years old.

The self-titled Wes Watkins 7-inch record will be released on December 6 with a show at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. The event will feature performances by Snubluck, Kayla Marque, Wheelchair Sports Camp, and the 14-piece Wes Watkins Ensemble. Additionally, Wes will release one of his original Christmas compositions on his birthday, December 13. Looking ahead, the large ensemble is planning to release an LP in the fall of 2025, pending funding.
