Friday nights in September! Nocturne is delighted to welcome Louisa Amend back to the Nocturne stage for a four-week residency. This series’ focus is storytelling through music, including beautiful renditions of jazz standards by lyricists like Johnny Mercer and Cole Porter; instrumental compositions by artists such as Keith Jarrett, Kenny Barron, Chick Corea, and Antonio Carlos Jobim set with lyrics by others (and some by Louisa herself); and some impactful songs from outside the traditional jazz idiom, including Joni Mitchell, Allen Toussaint, Bill Withers, and Bonnie Raitt.

For the first show on September 6, Louisa will be joined by Tom Amend (piano), Steve Kovalcheck (guitar), Patrick McDevitt (bass), and Dru Heller (drums).

Friday Show Times: Set One: 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.   |   Set Two: 9:00 – 10:30 p.m.

Louisa Amend is a vocalist and educator based out of Denver, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music Education After teaching music in public schools for a few years Louisa transitioned into working as a freelance musician and founding her voice studio and quickly became a mainstay in the Denver jazz scene.
