KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features Bluesman Sam Mayfield! Don’t be surprised that blues musicians make their home in the mild climate of Denver. The blues are universal. So Sam Mayfield’s hot-licked electric blues fit in just fine in Denver. Before he landed the co-host slot on the “All Blues” program in 1999, KUVO was a fan of Sammy’s. Our earliest broadcast of the Sam Mayfield Blues Revue goes back to 1995 at the Sloan’s Lake Event Center. Mayfield’s Blues Revue has been wowing Denver audiences for years. We’ve got Sam with friends like JD Kelly, Lionel Young, Henry Butler, Ed Wingfield aka Mr. Wonderful, and Miss Marvelous too!

The blues are hardly sad in Sam Mayfield’s hands. You can hear these performances, produced as they were broadcast LIVE in KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio.

Join host and producer Susan Gatschet on Saturday, March 5, at 10 pm, and Monday, March 7, at 7 pm. “On Stage,” is a KUVO exclusive!
