Rob Seligmann first started playing classic soul and funk on the radio as the host of an oldies program in Peoria, Illinois in the late 1990s. Taking a cue from 60s AM Radio, his show played James Brown and Joe Tex side by side with The Beatles and The Turtles. In May 2010, he attended a concert by Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings and was inspired to search for more artists with that classic 60s soul sound. He discovered a plethora of funk-revival and neo-soul artists. Started in the summer of 2017, "Funky Boombox" combines these two worlds, vintage and modern soul and funk. Find it on Friday nights from 10 to Midnight.
