From CU Boulder, “Thompson Latin Jazz Ensemble” will perform for Studio Club on Monday, April 29 at 7 to 8 pm. The ensemble studies music from the Caribbean and South America and its integration and ties with jazz. Traditional and contemporary forms of Latin music are surveyed, including Afro jazz, Afro-Cuban, danzón, salsa, calypso, and cha-cha-cha, as well as Brazilian forms such as samba and baião.

Players & Instruments: James Singer-trumpet, Matteo Bassani-trombone, Jacob Conway-alto sax, Michael Guitierrez-tenor sax, Zak Kopelkin-electric bass, Benji Robinson-drums, Leo Corona-congas, and Conductor & Arranger Victor Mestas-piano and keyboard.
