Due to high winds and fire danger, transmitters are operating at reduced power and reception may be affected through the weekend. Thank you for your understanding and support! You can listen online and on the KUVO app.

For our Summit County ListenersThe KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.

A strong believer in the Ellington dictum – “There are two kinds of music: good music, and the other kind.” – Rodney Franks makes sure to play only the good stuff!

Rodney arrived in Denver from Public Radio 89.3 KCUR, in Kansas, MO, in 1991. He immediately began volunteering at KUVO while working at various commercial stations in town. Rodney was hired by KUVO in 1995, and hosted afternoons for many years.

After a 3-year absence, he has returned to KUVO for a brand-new era of broadcast service, hosting The Monday Night Beat from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Breakfast Jazz Café on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.

Rodney says “jazz is a house with many rooms, I intend to give you the grand tour!”
